Mrs Pervin Watchmaker, Principal Euro School Nadiad |

It is an honour and a privilege to be the Principal of Euro School Nadiad, to be a part of the EURO SCHOOL, a school that stands for excellence and continuously strives to set the highest standards.

I am happy to be a part of an Institution which is a living place that shapes children’s lives and builds their character.

The importance of education in the life of an individual cannot be overstated. It shapes individuals in their formative years and imbues them with values that would govern all their choices in life.

Like any other profession, teaching undergoes constant change. The past 30 years have witnessed a marked increase in education research and the emergence of solid information about teaching and learning. According to me, great teachers remain intellectually alive and open to responsible change grounded in theory, research, and practice. He who does not research has nothing to teach. Dozens of specific and well-researched techniques are available today to help all learners. Of course, content knowledge is an important area of growth.

To me the very purpose of quality education is character building. Children are malleable, who can be shaped into persons of excellence. We as educators have to be exemplary to our students if we want them to be assets to the society and the nation. I feel it is important for every child to enjoy a sense of achievement.

Along with a commitment to achieve high academic scores and standards, it is very essential and important that our school be a place for ‘happy pupils’ with a love for learning and sound value system, which can be achieved by working jointly with the parents of our pupils to create a climate for open exchange of views, ideas and experiences, supporting each other’s quest for quality on all fronts and for the overall development of the child – the BALANCED SCHOOLING that we at EURO SCHOOL believe in.

We want to mould a generation who can serve and succeed not only in their respective careers but also in serving humanity and develop empathy and sensitivity towards the world at large. For inculcating the true spirit of humaneness, I wish to create an atmosphere where the students may grow with a true spirit of tolerance and respect for all religions, reverence for elders, sensibility to their cultural heritage and courage to face the challenges of life.

We take pride in the fact that our school has a family atmosphere in which everybody is valued as an individual and is encouraged to reach his or her full potential within a disciplined yet caring environment.

It is said if you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people. For me, Education does not mean providing answers. It means equipping the pupil with the means to find the answers for himself and within himself. Education empowers students to discover themselves who they are as people. My aim is not only to be an able administrator but also to be a friend, philosopher and guide to students on whom they can count on and trust at all times.

I am thoroughly enjoying my role as an Educator and am looking forward to the challenges that will come my way, and I look ahead to taking it forward in the next phase of its development.
